Congratulations to Shannon Kernick, who lifted the title, Warwick & Worcester Ladies Merit Champion for 2021.
The competition, which was held at the Bradford Arms saw a great day of bowling culminating in Shannon beating Emily Weaver in the final.
The two players route to the final were as follows:
Prelim Round, Shannon beat Anne O'Loughlin 21-12
First Round, Shannon beat Maureen Gamble 21-11, whilst Emily beat Lorraine Clarke 21-5
Quarter Finals, Shannon played Abby Easthope, winning 21-12, whilst Emily beat Emma Goode 21-12
Semi-Finals and Shannon beat Steph Witherspoon 21-11, and Emily beat Maggie Pailing 21-20
And in the final, Shannon ran out the winner 21-7
Unfortunately Shannon can not take part in the BCGBA National Merit Final, at Heaton Park, Prestwich, Manchester on Sunday, 15th August, but W&W have 4-spaces in the event so Emily, Steph Witherspoon, Maggie Pailing and Jan Pratley will represent the county.
The delayed semi-finals and final of the Vet's merit were concluded at Broomfield, whilst the Juniors played their merit on M&B. Congratulations to Tony Freeth, who became Warwick & Worcester Veterans Merit Champion for 2021.
The competition, which was held on the Broomfield concluded with Tony Freeth beating Tony Eades 21-12. This is the second competition in a row where Tony Eades has come runner-up.
The route to the final were as follows:
First Round, Tony Freeth beat Bob Smith 21-8, and Tony Eades narrowly beat Frank Benton 21-20
Second Round, Tony F defeated Stephen Green 21-8 and Tony E beat Jan Pratley 21-15
Quarter Finals, Tony F played Frank Naven, winning 21-14, whilst Tony E beat Mick McGuinness 21-17
In the delayed, re-arranged Semi-Finals Freethy beat Alan Hemming 21-16, and Tony E beat Ronnie Regan 21-14
In the final, Tony Freeth won 21-12
The two tony's are now going on to represent W&W at the national Jack & Jean Isherwood Veterans Merit at Prees in Shropshire on Wednesday 11th August.
Congratulations to Ryan Hocknull of West Brom FSC, who became 2021 W&W Junior Merit Champion on a quickly re-arranged M&B Portland Road.

First Round, Ryan beat Nathan Crocombe 21-20, whilst Ciaran beat Jack Darling 21-15
Quarter Finals, Ryan played George Kearney, winning 21-12, whilst Ciaran beat Matthew Caines 21-15
Semi-Finals and Ryan beat Ben Pritchard 21-14, and Ciaran beat Taylor Miller 21-6
And in the final, Ryan won 21-12
The two boys now represent W&W at Heaton Park, Prestwich, Manchester on Saturday, 14th August.
