ARTHUR MITCHELL CUP RULES

AMC1:          The competition will be known as The Bomber Cup playing for the Arthur Mitchell Trophy. Entrance to the competition shall be determined by the Competitions Sub-Committee and made known to all eligible clubs at the AGM each year. Prize money shall be determined from the number of entries plus any sponsorship less legitimate expenses incurred in the running of the event. The amounts shall be made known prior to the start of the event.

AMC2:         Dates for the matches will be made known by the Competitions Sub-Committee. Matches will then, without exception, be played on or before the closing dates set by the Competitions Sub-Committee. Matches not played by the date specified for each round will eliminate an offending team from any further part in the current competition. Both Clubs shall be removed from the competition unless the game has been conceded.

AMC3:         The Competitions Sub-Committee may grant up to a 7-day extension, at the request of the host Club, at any stage in the Competition if the closing date falls within a practice period at their green identified for the Senior and/or Junior County Team and/or the Warwickshire Ladies County Team. The 7-day extension will follow the date of the County fixture.

AMC4:       All games shall be 21-up and teams shall comprise 8 players 4 to play at home and 4 to play away. The home and away venues. The Final will be played on date arranged by the competitions Sub-Committee at a neutral green with floodlights in operation if necessary or earlier start times unless prevented from doing so due to inclement weather. The match will be managed by a Green Manager appointed by the Competition Sub-Committee.

AMC5:       The Competitions Sub-Committee shall have priority use of greens on the dates specifically identified for each round of the Cup Competition. Greens shall be cut on the day of the fixture. Matches are to commence at 7pm. Practice for home players is allowed up to the agreed start time. A shuffled draw will be done prior to the start of the game. At the neutral venue for the Final, the green shall be open for a 15-minute warm-up by both teams at the same time with the green vacated 10 minutes before the start time.

AMC6:        The Fixtures Secretary will make available an Arthur Mitchell Cup Competition Result Page on the online scoring system for the submission of results after the conclusion of the match.

AMC7:        Clubs not entering their team results onto the online scoring system within 24 hours following the scheduled date of the competition will be fined £10.00.

AMC8:        Any Club which fails to satisfy the requirements of these cup rules shall be fined a minimum of £10 for each offence and the matter may be considered by the WWCBA Disciplinary Committee at the request of the WWCBA Competitions Sub-Committee.

(D)      Any Club which plays an ineligible player shall be fined £10.00 for each offending player.

AMC9:          The Arthur Mitchell Cup Shall be open to all clubs in the WWCBA League including the County League and the Birmingham League however the entries will be limited to one entry per club. Handicaps will be played on a handicap of The Competition Sub-Committee will agree to the handicap prior to entry giving consideration for lower ranked Birmingham League Only Clubs.

Division 3 – 24 shots

Division 4 – 32 shots

Division 5 – 40 shots

Division 6 – 48 shots

Division 7 – 56 shots

Division 8 and below – 64 shots

The Winner of the Match shall be the overall aggregate of all games played home and away or at the neutral venue plus the handicaps added to the respective team. In the event of a tie the result will be determined by the team with the most winners and if still a tie, the result shall be determined by the best winner from games at any venue again if tied shall go to the second-best winner etc. until a result is found.

AMC10:          Players who are a member of more than one club may only play for the club where they have played a representative game in the WWCBA County League or Birmingham League Only.

AMC11:         Where the playing of an ineligible player occurs, the offending club shall have that result changed to zero for that player. Should this affect the overall aggregate score then the rules under AMC8 shall apply.

AMC12:          An Open draw shall be made prior to the commencement of the Competition at the start of each season. Each round will not be re-drawn and shall be done in a knockout format. Progress in the competition throughout the season will be shown on the online scoring system by the Fixtures Secretary.
